Operation lifesaver is a nationwide, not-for-profit public awareness program dedicated to ending collisions, fatalities and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and on railroad property.
New Mexico Operation Lifesaver began in 1979 as an organization that works to prevent death and injuries at Highway-Railroad grade crossings and on Railroad right-of-ways. In 2004 we became a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
We are always looking for new volunteers to help with our program here in New Mexico. If you would like to find out more information, contact us at
